Source quotations (right of quotation)

The site reproduces short third-party excerpts for criticism, review and analysis under the Polish right of quotation (prawo cytatu – art. 29 of the Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights), with attribution. Those excerpts remain their publishers' copyright and are not offered as open data.

Citing the index

You may cite the index and its findings with attribution and a link to wiekigotowosci.pl. This is encouraged.

The site is analytical and educational. It is not military, legal, or financial advice, nor a forecast. It measures preparedness; it does not predict whether a war would happen or succeed. Provided "as is", without warranty.

Privacy

The site uses no cookies, does not profile visitors, shows no advertising, and sells no data. Your theme choice is remembered by your browser alone (localStorage) and goes nowhere else. Your language choice is remembered the same way, but the language code itself (pl or en) also reaches the counter described below.

Until 2 September 2026 the site itself loaded the Cloudflare Web Analytics script for every visitor. That script was removed, because it read characteristics of your device, among them browser memory usage and load timings, before you had clicked anything.

Here is what is collected now:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics – measurement of page load speed, without cookies. It is not sent to visitors from the European Union: the script is injected by Cloudflare, and only outside the EU. If you are reading this from Poland or another EU country, this item does not apply to you and no such script will run. Outside the EU it reads load timings and browser characteristics and sends them to Cloudflare, with no identifiers that could track you across other sites.
• Sentry – a report sent only once something actually breaks in your browser. It carries the error message and stack trace, browser version, the page URL, and a trail of what happened just before the failure: clicks, key presses without their content, moves between views, network requests and console entries. Query strings are stripped from the addresses before the report leaves. We do not attach your IP address, although the connection to Sentry's server reveals it the way any other request on the network does. We cannot guarantee that personal data never appears inside an error message, because the browser is what writes that text. Reports currently go to Sentry's region in Germany (EU). No session replay, no mouse tracking.
• Feature-usage counter – aggregate counts of which tabs, eras and languages get picked, and how often the support link is clicked. No content, no address of the page you are on, no session identifier. It switches itself off if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

We build no profiles from this and do not combine it with other datasets. The legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)): for error reports, keeping the site healthy and secure; for the counter, knowing which parts of the site are read, so as to know what to develop.

Right to object

Because the processing above rests on legitimate interest, you may object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (GDPR art. 21(1)). An email to the address above is enough. You also have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, and to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (UODO).
